Members Breakfast

The Whitefish Bay Business & Professional Association is having its first Businessman Breakfast at Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn at 1319 E. Henry Clay in Whitefish Bay. The meeting will start at 8:30 am. All board members will attend this breakfast. The buffet style breakfast will be $7.00. The meeting will be informative as well as a great way to network with your fellow business owners and operators of Whitefish Bay. Topics of discussion will include the Streetscape progress and The Holiday Stroll,

 

 

 

The Great Pumpkin Display

Dates

 

The day begins with a wave of costumed children parading down Silver Spring Drive (lined with WFBB&PA sponsored corn stalks and banners) to local merchants. The costumed children stop to "Trick or Treat" the merchants, who in turn usually give a treat. If you do not participate in this event, please put a sign on your door, although a small bowl of treats displayed by your door will usually show good will. The Great Pumpkin Display Sponsored by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation is a family favorite loved by young and old alike. Families from all over the greater Milwaukee area enjoy viewing the spectacular display of hundreds and hundreds of hand-carved jack-o-lanterns. Also available are free pumpkins for the public to carve and Fall fare from local merchants including hot apple cider and caramel apples. The WFBB&PA volunteer for the event, keeping a watch over the glow of the pumpkins. This is a great way to spend a fall evening with your customers, clients and neighbors.

The Holiday Stroll

The event which kicks off the merchants biggest season starts with a huge parade, complete with local merchants floats, local celebrities, clowns, horses, and much, much more concluding with live reindeer, pulling a beautiful sleigh with Santa! The event brings thousands of residents to Silver Spring Drive merchants to enjoy a sneak preview of items that "might" show up if they are good. This event is the time when all area merchants thank the community by supporting this longstanding and cherished community event. The event is supported by The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, WFB Village and WFBB&PA and area merchants. After the Holiday Stroll Parade, the fun just begins with festivities in the past such as Giant Slides, Pony Rides, Kiddie Train Rides, Wild Bull Bounce, Cinderella Carriage Rides, Wagon Rides, and refreshments by the local Boy scouts, Cowboy Kettle Korn & The Lion's Club. Local merchants open their doors and usually have refreshments such as hot cider, cookies and exciting events planned. Lastly, a must visit to be had at the M&I Bank, Jolly ol' Santa's lap awaits you. This event takes place the Friday after Thanksgiving. Parade starts at 6:00 p.m. and events usually conclude around 9:00 p.m.

Members Annual Meeting/Outing

The Annual Meeting is a fabulous semi-formal event that allows members to gather for an evening of socializing and entertainment. Awards will be given to 'Outstanding Business of the Year', 'Outstanding WFBB&PA Member of the Year', and 'Outstanding New WFBB&PA Business'.

WFBB&PA Members are encouraged to invite clients, employees and other guests to enjoy golfing and networking. If you do not golf, you are invited to join the camaraderie at the picnic to follow the golf game.

Forth of July Celebration

The fun filled Fourth of July Celebration is an event that brings out the entire community! Sponsored by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, the WFBB&PA joins in the fun by participating in the parade, tossing candy, waving to the crowds, and having a great time with the public. The festivities start off with the parade that proudly celebrates our nation's independence. The parade generally features over sixty units consisting of bands, local community groups, sports teams, antique cars, clowns and others. members are encouraged to join in the parade to represent our business community. The parade is routed East on Silver Spring Drive through the hear of downtown Whitefish Bay and heads North on Lake Drive to the finish at Klode Park. The celebration will continue at Klode Park with games and prizes to entertain children, and music & food for the entire family. Several popular bands usually keep the crowds happy until it's time for the big finale - fireworks under the stars. Families and friends socialize on blankets and quilts awaiting the amazing pyrotechnic display, a perfect way to mingle with co-workers, your customers, clients and neighbors.

Sidewalk Sale Extravaganza

Thousands of items covering both sides of Silver Spring Drive brings hundreds of customers shopping for that incredible "gotta have" bargain! This is an awesome time of year for merchants to clean house, remove slow moving merchandise, sell scratched and dented items, and introduce customers to new and exciting merchandise! This two day event is held in July, usually the second to the last weekend. The event runs Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Associate members of the WFBB&PA will serve refreshments. The event is published in The Bay Leaves, as well as in the local Milwaukee papers. This is a permit required event and only members of the WFPP&PA will be allowed to participate in this event. Many participants have concluded this event alone will pay for the low yearly WFPP&PA membership dues.

Sound of Summer

This incredible August event is spearheaded by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation. The WFBB&PA sponsors the event and coordinate volunteers for the food tent, and keeping the local stores open to the public. Sounds of Summer joins the community together to celebrate summer and music. Bring blankets, wine, cheese, and even pack a candelabra to enjoy a splendid summer night of music! The fifth anniversary of Sounds of Summer promises to keep the groove going as Milwaukee favorite Marc Ballini opens the show with his contemporary fold and R&B style vocals. Marc is followed by Valley of the Dolls featuring WAMI award winners Janet Planet, Julie Wood, Kim Zick and Connie Grauer performing an energetic mix of jazz, R&B, and contemporary sounds. Headlining this year's show is WAMI award winner The Mr. Lucky Syndicate - eight accomplished musicians who will lead concert goers on a fast moving journey into the R&B and contemporary swing world, Brian Setzer style. Don't miss it!

Sounds of Summer 2007 is sponsored by M&I Bank, Sendik's Food Markets, and Epilepsy and Seizure Care Specialists, S.C., Whitefish Bay Business and Professional Association, and presented by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation. Pending volunteers, memberships, and merchant involvement, the WFBB&PA has many more events that need membership participation. i.e. Wine & Cheese Open House Night sponsored by local merchants, An Art Festival, The Silver Spring Winter Fling and many more ideas. Please bring your ideas to the monthly meetings, members are encouraged to attend the WFBB&PA Board meetings held at 9:00 a.m., on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at M&I Bank, 177 E. Silver Spring Dr.
